Yesterday we got the Red Shiso seeds into the ground.  Each year we wait until the beginning of June when the danger of frost is past.  The Red Shiso is very frost sensitive.  Since its the one crop we absolutely must have for the Essences, we can&#8217;t risk putting it in in May only to have it get a late frost.  We hope we have waited long enough this year.  Tonight&#8217;s forecast is for lows in the high thirties!  <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.greenhopeessences.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/06\/P6050103-1.jpg\" height=\"576\" width=\"768\" border=\"1\" hspace=\"4\" vspace=\"4\" alt=\"P6050103.JPG\" title=\"P6050103.JPG\" \/><br \/>\nRiley is tired of planting and his work ethic took a nose dive.  He mostly wanted to flop on Sophie wherever she was in the gardens.
